Here's something that you don't encounter every day , it's an original Ancient Bronze Dagger. Measures 14-5/8 " in overall length with a 10-3/4" double edged blade molded with a broad central ridge . At the base , it has the ornate oval design that is very well crafted. It has the integrally cast grip that is raised on the edges which would have originally been for inlaid grip scales. I have seen other specimens that still had the grip scales intact and they were made of bone grips. This piece has a beautiful thick greenish brown tone patina. The condition is excellent dug condition with no bends or repairs and is complete except for the grip scales that have rotted away many eons ago. The double edged blade is still surprisingly very sharp even today. This pattern of knife would have been produced in the area of Luristan which is in the modern-day area of western Iran in the Zagros Mountains. This area would have been a province of Ancient Persia. They were well known for their bronze metalworking skills. This weapon was designed for up close and personal combat and would have been produced from approximately 1500 to 600 years before Christ. This would date this piece from 3500 years to 2600 years old. If this piece was made during the earlier part of this time-line, it would have been around during the time of Moses. The later end of this time-line would have been around the time of the rein of King Cyrus the great ( King of Persia) ,who released the Jews out of captivity and helped them rebuild their temple in Jerusalem. And of course, it was certainly around and was even an ancient artifact during the time Jesus Christ our Lord walked the earth. Now to me , that's very cool. Also, one more thing that adds to the cool factor and even kicks it up a few notches , is that it has inscribed on one side, what appears to be ancient Aramaic symbols , as seen in the pictures. I am not an expert on Aramaic or other ancient Semitic languages , but I do study it some along with Hebrew . Hebrew and Aramaic are read from right to left . The first symbol on the right resembles Aleph , which is a symbol of an ox head , meaning ( God - the Creator- Father) . The other possibly is Gimmel , which is a symbol meaning ( to lift up ) . These two symbols sometimes look similar both in Hebrew and Aramaic and other Semitic languages. Like I said, I'm no expert in ancient languages and but I do enjoy trying to research these things. Regardless of what the inscription says, the inscription is absolutely real and was done in ancient times. This is your chance to own a 100% guaranteed authentic ancient Dagger!
