VERY RARE . This is a very cool relic. It's a brass 10 cent Sutlers Check/Token. The obverse clearly reads " INGLISH & NANTZ 10 cents in goods 32nd REGT ILL VOLS. " . The reverse clearly reads "JOHN STANTON die sinker CINCINNATI" I personally dug this token along with a solid 14kt gold pen quill tip in the same hole many years ago at a Confederate camp at Shiloh on private land with permission. These were undoubtedly owned by the same Union soldier. The 32nd Illinois Infantry was captured in the HORNETS NEST by the Confederates. I believe the Confederate camp I found them in just south of the battlefield, was where they took some of the captured Union troops and emptied their pockets and knapsacks out . It would be cool for the same person to buy them both together, since they belonged to the same soldier , but I am giving you the option to buy them separately. This listing is for the TOKEN ONLY. You don't see these very often and this one has solid provenance.
