Extremely Rare, Confederate Bullet Struck Buckle found by me . This is Authentic in every way . It was hit by a 44 caliber ball right where the keeper once was . I found it in a Confederate Cavalry Brigade camp , about 1800 troops spread out guarding a river crossing in North Mississippi. They had a sharp skirmish with Yankee Cavalry about a mile from the camp and I believe that the soldier that wore this buckle was one of the casualties. The Confederate troops won that skirmish according to the officer reports . They would have brought their dead and wounded back to the camp. I found a Nobles Brothers Mitered Corner Buckle about 50' from where this one was found. I have found 6 Confederate Buckles in this camp to date and have them pictured for you to see . I believe this buckle to be another Nobles Brothers Rome Georgia product as it has the same hooks as a CSA Pewter, a Plain Pewter, Mitered Corner, and also the thick plain brass Nobles Brothers plate we see from time to time. This specimen is UNLISTED and is not found in any of the buckle books. It is made of thick brass and is gutter backed on the top and bottom only. Has Nobles Brothers style hooks and a style I and nobody else that has examined it has ever seen. It was an early war product. The Buckle is in great dug condition and has a smooth green patina. It was bent in one place, when I found it, so I had my friend Robert McDaniel straighten it without breaking it. I had him leave it obvious where the straightening was done to not try to hide it. Here is your chance to add an authentic Bullet Struck Confederate Buckle to your collection. As well as one that is not even in the books. This buckle has rock solid provenance and I will provide a letter of provenance and Authenticty to the buyer. This is a whole lot of relic for the money !
