Wow, Not much to be said about this one. The pictures speak for themselves! This is a thick cast brass Atlanta Style CSA Rectangle buckle. This style is highly sought after. This example is , by far , the nicest dug example I have seen in over 40 years of collecting and dealing. Has a perfect body curve, nice file marks, extremely crisp detail, a one of the prettiest soft green patinas that I could ever hope for. One really cool thing that you can see on the back is a really unique casting flaw that can be seen in one of the pictures pointing it out. Making it very unique and identifiable from all other examples. Of course the pristine and virtually perfect condition identifies and sets it aside from the rest also. This example came out of a nationally known, well respected collection and has very good provenance. It was dug in North Mississippi, and was more than likely one of General Nathan Bedford Forrest's Cavalry camps. Collection names and exact dig location will be given to new owner. This is a perfect candidate to upgrade your CSA buckle with one that is practically non- upgradable. I will take your CSA buckle in trade if you choose to upgrade yours . If you don't have one, and want one of the best, then this one is for you! 😃
