Awesome 9th plate Ambrotype attributed to Private John Thomas Wedgeworth of Russell's 4th Alabama Cavalry Regiment. This Regiment served in General Nathan Bedford Forrest's Cavalry Command. This image came directly from the Scott/Wedgeworth family estate in Greene County, Alabama. This 9th plate Ambrotype actual image size is 2x2.5 inches. Its still in its original half case. The image is very clear. According to the records, John Thomas Wedgeworth and his immediate family, moved to Texas after the Civil War. He had other family already living in Texas. I have included in the pictures a snapshot of Rachel Scott Wedgeworth. She is John Thomas Wedgeworth's grandmother from his father's side. This is where the Scott family ties in , as her maiden name was Scott. To bad that he's not wearing his Confederate uniform, but that would have raised the price up tremendously. And like it is, it still has the history behind without spending thousands on the image.
