Very cool brass Texas star hat pin/ rosette. This one was dug in Helena Arkansas, many years ago. When it was dug , it was bent and the digger straightened it back flat . It looks really good. It measures 1-1/2" in diameter. This is one of my favorite Texas star designs. It is called the flat beveled star and is the same star featured on my favorite Texas buckle, that I have pictured with it for reference. Could have very likely been made at the same Manufactory as the Texas buckle pictured. And the buckle is thought to have been made in Houston Texas. And is considered a true Texas star pattern. This one has most of the lead solder remaining and was only poured in the star itself. This once had a couple attachment pins in the center. Many consider this to have been used as a Bridle Rosette, but could have very well been employed as a Texas hat plate. This is a fairly inexpensive way to own a true Texas star relic.
