Very nice Early Militia Eagle Panel Plate Buckle. These buckles were Pre-War Panel plates 1850's era . These buckles are almost always dug in Confederate Camps and positions. This one is no exception, it was dug near Florence Alabama in a Confederate camp. Many of these buckles were especially found in early Confederate camps and positions such as, Fort Donelson, Shiloh, Corinth, Iuka, etc. . I always displayed all of my militia panel plates with my Confederate Buckles in my collection. This one is a keeper and has a beautiful patina and condition with NO repairs .
