Here's a very neat item . It's a Solid cast brass Civil War period Flag or Guidon Base. This is just my opinion, but I think it has a Confederate feel about it. This would go on the bottom of a flag or Guidon wood pole and have a flag topper finial on top of the pole. This type could have been used for Infantry, Cavalry or Artillery flags or guidons . This one was dug around Fairfax Va . In a Civil War Camp. Condition is excellent with no bends and very smooth olive green patina.
