Cool 😎 Soldier Inscribed Dug Sword Belt Keeper. It is clearly Inscribed by the soldier " 1st TENN" . It has been in my personal collection for many years. I bought this little jewel years ago from my good friend Tom Hays of Stones River Trading. Best I can remember, it was dug in middle Tennessee. There are three possibilities as to which regiment of 1st Tennessee this was . It could have been 1st Tenn Infantry, as they were at Stones River and Tullahoma , or the 1st Tenn Cavalry CSA or the 1st Tenn Cavalry USA . As all were in that area . Yes , it's a possibility that it could be from the 1st Tenn Cavalry USA galvanized Yankee regiment ( Torres ) . But if you're an optimist , it has 2 out of 3 chances to be Confederate 😁 . Has a beautiful smooth look patina to it, almost looks nondug, but I think it was a very early dug relic. This is a great inexpensive IDed relic.
