Gorgeous 1808 Silver Half Dollar dug in a Colonial house site in Virginia. Has very nice detail and a very pretty dark toning to the silver. These early Half Dollars are a good bit larger than the later half dollars . I put an 1861 seated half dollar beside it for size comparison. Has words struck on the rim saying HALF A DOLLAR and FIFTY CENTS. Rare and desirable coin !
