1861-o Half Dollar minted in the first year of the Civil War. Hard to find date and mint mark . The O on the reverse stands for New Orleans Mint . Pretty coin that is circulated condition but still has some nice detail. Dug in a Civil War Camp near Corinth Mississippi many years ago. Since the coin is silver, it would pass as being non dug. Whoever lost this coin lost a good chunk of change for that day and time .Cool coin that was carried by a soldier and with a New Orleans Louisiana mint mark to boot .
