Original U.S. Buckle dug near Fredericksburg Va . This specimen is an early style with puppy paw studs on the back. Also, this style is known as the flat bottom " U " version and is thought by some collectors to be associated with Massachusetts troops. The condition is solid , but it has a wedge missing out of the left side. Also has a good bit of lead loss in back with lead only remaining in the middle around the hooks and priced accordingly. Great inexpensive buckle to add to your collection.
