Beautiful Civil War Foot Officer's Presentation Sword made by C Roby & Co. and is so marked. Sword is complete and in great condition with one of the prettiest red brass patinas that I have ever seen. Has a wonderful jeweler's engraving that reads,

I have a multi page history of the 42nd Illinois Infantry included with the sword. The 42nd Illinois was in the western theater of operations and took part in many battles such as, Island #10 , Siege of Corinth Mississippi, Murfreesboro, Chickamauga , and many more. Very nice Identified Sword at a reasonable price point.
