Here's a very cool variety of the CS block A coat size artillery button. It was dug near Fredericksburg VA. This example has a tin back, which is all there except for the shank . But the face of this button let's us know that it was more than likely a product of E M Lewis of Richmond Virginia. Which is one of my favorite varieties of these block letter buttons. Very distinctive face. The condition is excellent with a beautiful detailed patina. With no pushes . As was mentioned earlier, the only thing missing is the shank , and that was why it was lost. Great button for anyone's collection!!!!
